The Green Lady

The Mysterious Green Lady

I picked up this print in a Longview, WA thrift store around 1997 for about $2.40.  She’s followed me from dwelling to dwelling ever since, ever a mystery.  Why is she sad?  And why is she green?  My houseguests have been pondering this for years.

Now the lost history can be told.  The original painting was done by Vladimir Tretchikoff, and prints of his became very popular in the sixties.  The woman is Monika Sing-Lee and the story is told in the article below.

However, still no explanation on her face color.  That mystery remains.
