Design Week Portland is coming – http://www.designweekportland.com/
The purpose of Design Week Portland is to explore process, craft, and practice across disciplines through the lens of Portland’s most vibrant programming. Events during the week will be hosted by ADX, AIGA Portland, CreativeCares, CreativeMornings, Designspeaks, Museum of Contemporary Craft, PSU, PNCA, WebVisions, WeMake, and a multitude of complementary organizations, studios, and maker spaces.
The Design Week events are not just interesting, compelling material for anyone with a finger in the creative worlds, the events are mostly free!
Through my role here at Hot Pepper Studios we’re involved in two events. The first is a workshop through our WebVisions conference series:
Designing Narrative Media Experiences: Storytelling, Environments, and Technology
Oct. 12, 2012
Second Story Interactive Studio
An intensive, five-hour design charette that begins with a design brief and provides a hands on opportunity to explore emerging technologies, emerging narrative approaches, and contemporary space-making.
Registration is available at wv-narrexp.eventbrite.com
And on October 10th, our studio will be open as part of the “SE Open House” which opens the doors on 16+ creative companies – http://www.designweekportland.com/#_event-81
We’ll be playin’ pinball, showing retro SciFi films and serving icy Rogue beers. Print out a robot picture to pin up on our board. Go, robots!
