Oregon Brainstorms Partnerhip is an online source of health and human biology units for teachers of grades 4-8. The site is designed to provide pre-packaged coursework for teachers. Everything is easy to print out for the classroom. Students with Internet access can practice their knowledge of the brain in Dr. Brainstein's Lab. Students bring THE MONSTER to life by answering the questions correctly!
Not only is the site attractive to the eye and functional in older browsers, it is also built from the ground up to be easy for the busy staff at OMSI to maintain and add additional units as they are written.
It was great fun working with OMSI and everyone's kids are smarter for it!
The Millennium Bug Exhibit was the first project Amazing and OMSI collaborated on. The very day the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry's (OMSI) Millennium Bug web site was launched, the San Jose Mercury News selected it as its "hot site of the week."
The site incorporates several informational pages on the history of the Year 2000 problem, and what could be done to prepare for the bug. Online interactive features demonstrate the issues. This includes activities like, "Find the Hidden Computer," in which visitors roll their mouse over a make-believe cityscape to find out how businesses could be affected by the Year 2000 bug.
January 1, 2000 has come and gone, and the materials are no longer available online.
