PassEdge, Inc — formerly a division of Intel — provides digital rights management for streaming video. PassEdge is a fast moving technology startup.
Passedge came to Amazing in hopes of having a working
demo of the PassEdge product to show at both tradeshows
and for use by their mobile sales force. Our work is remarkable
both for the technical complexity and the timeline. In
three weeks Amazing went from an incompletely defined
product idea to a trade show product that required eight
clients and two servers just to run it.
The demo Amazing created directly interfaced to PassEdge's untested Alpha product. Their tradeshow demo was convincing enough that customers were offering to buy it on the spot.
Following the tradeshow Amazing worked to create a copy of the demo that could be easily carried on a single laptop. With HTML that's normally an easy requirement. However, to demonstrate their working product it required stop and start video streams from different windows. Through advanced programming in Flash and Shockwave, Amazing was able to create a lap-top based demo that rivaled the experience of the 8 client/2 server trade show version.
